Welcome to Travel USA Life 2.0: A New Chapter Begins—Here’s Why You’ll Love It. We’re turning the page on the ordinary and launching into something extraordinary. This fresh chapter of Travel USA Life brings a bolder vision, richer experiences, and even more inspiring ways to explore the heart and soul of America.

Hello fellow travel dreamers, explorers, and deal seekers—It’s Brian here, the voice behind the newly refreshed Travel USA Life blog. If you’ve been with me on this journey before, you might remember our earlier adventures under the name Travel USA Discounts.

That chapter was all about finding ways to explore this incredible country affordably. And while the love for saving money hasn’t gone anywhere, the story has evolved—and so have I.

After taking a year-long break from the blog (more on that shortly), I’m back, reenergized and excited to reintroduce you to the newly minted Travel USA Life.

It’s not just a name change—it’s a shift in perspective. It’s a mindset. It’s about celebrating the vibrant, colorful journey of life that travel can offer, while still finding ways to make it more accessible through smart savings.

Let me take you on the inside track of why I paused, what’s inspiring this reboot, and what’s coming next. Spoiler alert: there are travel tips, tech hacks, sunset snaps, and a few Grandpa stories ahead.

Why I Took a Break: The Real Talk

Life has a funny way of hitting pause on your plans.

Over the past few years, I dealt with some major health setbacks that required my full attention. Most recently, I underwent a total hip replacement last October. Add in some recovery time, therapy, and a few other life speed bumps, and it became clear that I needed to step away from blogging for a while to focus on healing.

But healing doesn’t just mean physically. Mentally and emotionally, I found myself needing to reevaluate the direction of this blog, my work, and even how I spend my time.

I’ve since stepped into semi-retirement, which means I still work a few days a week as a Director of Business Development here in Middle Tennessee, but I’ve also reclaimed a lot of time to explore my passions.

And explore we will.

Big Life Moments in the Meantime

Though I was grounded for a bit, life certainly didn’t slow down. In fact, some of the best moments of my life happened during this pause:

Our home residence underwent total renovation upstairs and down. We had a new inground pool installed and a patio covered outdoor kitchen built.

My daughter graduated college and got married shortly after.
We went on a few beach vacations and even took a cruise to the Bahamas.
Best of all, we became grandparents for the very first time!

I go by B-Pops now (my wife Rhonda is lovingly called Birdie), and being a grandparent has added a beautiful new layer to life’s journey. It’s another reason why I’m passionate about sharing the joy of travel—because time and memories are the true currency of life.

The rebrand from Travel USA Discounts to Travel USA Life wasn’t just about sounding cooler. It was about embracing the full experience. Yes, I’m still going to be hunting down great travel deals, finding ways to save on attractions, and helping you travel smarter. But this version of the blog also covers the life part of the journey:

Entertainment highlights
Tech tips for travelers
And reflections on living joyfully and purposefully

Our Next Big Adventure: Aloha, Hawaii!

To celebrate 35 amazing years of marriage, Rhonda and I are heading to Hawaii for the very first time. Yep—Waikiki, baby!

We’re going all out:

A traditional luau for the hula dancing and hog roast and poke.
Island excursions to Peal Harbor, Diamond Head, North Shore
A new GoPro camera to document every magical moment
And lots of romantic sunsets on Wakiki beach

This trip feels like more than a fantastic vacation. It’s a rebirth of sorts. And it’s the perfect way to kick off our next chapter with Travel USA Life.

The Sandwich Method: A Tasty Blog Format

Let me explain the new format I’m using.

Picture a delicious sandwich:

The top bun is the story—inspiration, life updates, meaningful moments.
The meaty middle is the travel content—locations, savings tips, itineraries, gear reviews.
The bottom bun is the practical side—tech, tools, resources, and side hustles to help you live better.

With that structure, each article will satisfy both your heart and your wallet. But there is a lot more to the Blog Sandwich layering than that. The entire concept is about other “evergreen” niche topics that you can include within you blog sandwich to keep things fresh, invigorating and never run out of subject material to talk about or to monetize with. More on all this in a moment, but first this… A common sense method to Save & Earn for anyone, especially travel bloggers and influencers that love to share!

The plan while doing this Travel USA Life blog is to continually pivot between my personal life story as it unfolds day by day, mixed in with elements of Travel, Food, Entertainment and Technology.

Let’s see. How am I doing so far to the script?

I talked about our TRAVEL (upcoming trip to Hawaii) and about FOOD and ENTERTAIMENT (savings at restaurants, etc.) with SAVE CLUB and the traditional luau we booked for the hula dancing and hog roast and poke. Helping at the Flower Shop: for Rhonda & Kim

As a somewhat new semi-retiree, when I’m not road-tripping or writing on my blogs, you’ll often find me helping out at my wife Rhonda, and her sister Kim’s flower shop that they own & operate near Nashville.

From working on a new blog for their little flower shop, to creating fresh images and videos for their marketing, to being called upon for occasional flower deliveries (post-hip-recovery of course), it’s a labor of love.

You’ll never know the radiance of a heartfelt smile until you personally deliver a beautiful flower arrangement to someone that makes their day. It’s truly a rewarding and fantastical experience of love and appreciation.

Being surrounded by color, creativity, and small-town charm has inspired me in more ways than one.

Allow AI To Bring Out the Best in You

I have to say—I’ve been incredibly excited by all the latest AI advancements with images, video, audio, and music platforms. These tools are becoming more intuitive and powerful each month, and I’m leaning in.

As a former communications major in College, I never dreamed that one day I’d be producing content with AI-enhanced voices, visuals, and even personalities from this thing called a laptop from home. But here we are.

I’ve also been experimenting with AI Audio Podcasts over the last six months, and the results are stunningly convincing.

In fact, I’m in the planning stages of launching an AI-enhanced podcast where lifelike AI avatars will conduct interviews with real people—maybe even me—or possibly you, if you’re an interested fellow travel blogger sharing your adventures across America.

This blend of creativity, technology, and storytelling is an absolute thrill, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves in the months ahead. So, stay tuned—you won’t want to miss what’s coming.
